Project 4 - Presentation Drawing

After making the L-shaped chair model, we were required to draw its plan as well as axonometric and perspective drawings. To me, it's quite challenging because we have to imagine how to draw it. And finally, I came up with these drawings.

Project 6 - Integrated Project : Design & Build "An Amphitheatre Stage"

This is the toughest studio project among all. In this project, we were divided into groups of 16 and I am in the Group 5. There are seven disciplines in each and every group. My group leader is Amalin, majoring in architecture. For this project, we were required to design an open air amphitheatre with 100 seats. The site is located just beside E08 building.

For this project, we were required to present our idea and design in terms of A1 board presentation drawings and a 1:10 scaled real model. Besides, we have to prepare various reports - weekly progress report, costing report and also final report. For QS, we prepared the budget and also three costing reports - preliminary model estimation, actual model costing & cost difference and elementary model costing. So, Haq and I discussed on the materials used and also estimated the cost by surveying the price in the market.

For the design part, our team designed the stage with a theme of garden. We used green roof as our main point of our design. After spending almost a week of sleepless nights, we came up with these presentation drawings.

After completed Project 6A & 6B, we had to build the real model according to the scale of 1:10. Also, we spent almost two weeks of sleepless nights to build up our model. Throughout the project, we really had a tough time. It was such a challenging to us. But, with the cooperation given by the group members, we successfully overcame the toughest time.

Project 5 - Neighbourhood Elements

This time, we were required to go for a site visit. For this project, we have to study the place and draw its plan as well as propose improvements. We were given six choices of site and I chose Siara 81. After visiting the site, I found that the site is well-planned with systematic houses arrangement and sufficient facilities and equipments. But still, there are some elements that can be improved. For instance, placing a road convex mirror at the road corner, building a speed bump, providing more street lamps, building a basketball court, equipping the guard house with boom gate and CCTV and the list goes on.

Project 3B - Objects Connection - A Comfortable Chair

Part B of Project 3 is making a L-shaped chair with table attached to it. The theme is unity. For this project, we were divided in groups of three. My group mates are Angeline and Jia Juinn.

We are CHANEE ^0^

The chair will be located at the waterfall near drum. After visiting the site, we found that the place is so relaxing. So, we decided to design a beach chair. We want people to feel comfortable when sitting on our chair. We made three rows of chairs with one single row and one double row. The single row can fit four or five people whilst six people can sit on the double row chairs with three seats each. We also designed backrest for the chair so that people can really relax and enjoy the sound of water-falling over there.

Project 3A - A Free-Form Sculpture

The third project - make a free-form sculpture with the theme of harmony! Oh no, the task given are now getting harder and harder. We have to make a sculpture now. It's a challenge to me because I'm poor at designing. I have no idea what to do at all. After scratching my head of thinking what to do, I finally came out with this idea - music note.

Music is international. It speaks a language that can be understood by all. People from everywhere can share the emotions, feelings, memories, joy or sadness that inspired by the music. Listening to music together may sometimes reveal mutual understanding and allow communications to open. This leads us to know each other and to learn to love each other through music. So, music unites people. It creates peace and thus brings harmony.

Project 2

After submitting the first project, we were immediately assigned the second project - draw natural and man-made structures that can be found in USM. So, I decided to walk back to my hostel after the class to look for suitable structures. Immediately, I spotted a bus stop which is located at School of HBP and I found it suits the requirement of the man-made structure drawing, that is one-storey height building. So, here it is, my man-made structure drawing.

My drawing of man-made structure

Whilst for the natural structure, we can actually draw either an animal or a plant. Finally, I found this special plant when I was wandering in KOMCHA. It caught my attention because of its leaves. I found it attractive and decided to draw it.

Leaves with pores, first time of my life seeing this special structure.

Again, after spending days of drawing...TA-DAA, here it is the outcome!

Although my drawing looks messy, I'm still satisfied with it. :)

Project 1 - Me, Myself and I

What?! We need to draw a self portrait? And also design a personal logo? Oh my god! You must be kidding me! I don't know drawing at all, but now I'm required to draw a portrait and also design a logo that can best reflect me. So, here they are - my self-portrait and personal logo, after spending days to complete them.
